Time to see the programme of the VII Europe + Asia Event Forum (EFEA) 2018

On 17-19 January 2018 participants of the VII Europe + Asia Event Forum (EFEA) will begin a new business year by discussing the topic “Events industry in the creative economy: how to keep competitiveness in the new world”.

Darya Ostrovskaya, Director General of the R&C Market Research Company and Chairperson of the EFEA Organising Committee, shares why such topic was chosen for the Forum 2018:

“Last year we discussed events industry 4.0, a new world of changes when artificial intelligence (AI) rules. In 2018 we decided to remind ourselves and industry professionals that the core of events are people – organisers, partners, participants, and we are special because of our very extraordinary feature – ability to create.

We still live among new technologies and discoveries, but their value is thousand fold increased by a human – creative – factor. It’s time of creative economy when the most precious value is intellectual activity. Calvert Foundation 22 and PwC register that today up to 10% of GDP in developed countries are formed by creative economy, and this figure will definitely grow.

We purposefully have chosen as an epigraph to the EFEA 2018 programme the words of Peter Coy, Economics editor for Bloomberg Businessweek, who says that now the Industrial Economy is giving way to the Creative Economy, and corporations are at another crossroads, they will have to change, dramatically. The struggle of daily business will be won by the people and the organizations that adapt most successfully to the new world that is unfolding.
