On 17-19 January 2018 participants of the VII Europe + Asia Event Forum (EFEA) will begin a new business year by discussing the topic “Events industry in the creative economy: how to keep competitiveness in the new world”.
On the website of EFEA euras-forum.com/en you can already find the topics of the sessions that are traditionally dedicated to exhibition industry, meetings industry, venue management and regional marketing.
Darya Ostrovskaya, Director General of the R&C Market Research Company and Chairperson of the EFEA Organising Committee, shares why such topic was chosen for the Forum 2018:
“Last year we discussed events industry 4.0, a new world of changes when artificial intelligence (AI) rules. In 2018 we decided to remind ourselves and industry professionals that the core of events are people – organisers, partners, participants, and we are special because of our very extraordinary feature – ability to create.
We still live among new technologies and discoveries, but their value is thousand fold increased by a human – creative – factor. It’s time of creative economy when the most precious value is intellectual activity. Calvert Foundation 22 and PwC register that today up to 10% of GDP in developed countries are formed by creative economy, and this figure will definitely grow.
Events industry companies also work in this new environment and need to adapt to it to stay, develop and win in the market – through creation, as always.
We purposefully have chosen as an epigraph to the EFEA 2018 programme the words of Peter Coy, Economics editor for Bloomberg Businessweek, who says that now the Industrial Economy is giving way to the Creative Economy, and corporations are at another crossroads, they will have to change, dramatically. The struggle of daily business will be won by the people and the organizations that adapt most successfully to the new world that is unfolding.
At the EFEA 2018 the best specialists of the events industry will try to define, how organisers of exhibitions, forums and conferences, specialists in business and incentive tourism should adjust to the creative economy and stay attractive to their customers.”
Apart from the congress programme EFEA participants will be able to schedule and hold target meetings with organisers and contractors at the Matchmanking centre, get acquainted with a new generation of events industry specialists at Event TALENTS, see innovations and technologies in the field of equipment and services Event EXPO and also congratulate colleagues at the ceremony of independent EFEA Awards for events industry leaders.
